How the joint RMU–SMU programme works

This degree is run jointly by Regional Maritime University (RMU) in Ghana and Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) in China. The first, second, and fourth years are spent at RMU, while the third year takes place at SMU in Shanghai. Travelling to China is not automatic — it depends on you obtaining a valid Chinese entry visa. You will also need to show that you can pay for a return ticket and cover your living expenses in Shanghai during that year.

How hard it is to get a place

Entry to this programme is less competitive than many other business degrees, which means your chances are better if you meet the standard requirements. You must be no more than 30 years old when the programme begins, and you need the financial capacity for the year in China. You should check your WASSCE results against the regular entry requirements published by the university to confirm you qualify.
