What integrated development planning actually covers

Programmes of this kind usually start from the idea that development problems cannot be solved in isolation. You learn to see how land use, housing, transport, water, sanitation, economic activity and social needs connect. Core topics typically include urban and regional planning, development project design, geographic information systems (GIS), and how to involve communities in decisions. You build skills in mapping, data analysis, policy interpretation and report writing.

How hard it is to get a place

This programme is less competitive than many other degree courses at KTU, so strong grades are not essential. You still need to meet the published entry requirements with your WASSCE results. If your grades are average, this programme is worth considering.

Where this degree can take you

Most graduates go into planning or development roles. In Ghana, that often means working at district assemblies or with the national land-use and planning authority.
