BMus (Music)

The BMus (Music) at the University of Cape Coast is a degree programme in the arts and humanities for students who want to study music in depth. It combines practical musicianship with academic study, preparing you for a range of careers in performance, education, and the creative industries.

What a music degree involves

Programmes of this kind usually cover music theory, history, and composition, along with practical performance on an instrument or voice. How competitive is entry

Admission to the BMus at UCC is competitive. This means that meeting the minimum requirements may not be enough, and you will need to show strong grades and likely a good audition or portfolio. Compared to the same programme at the University of Education, Winneba, which is less competitive, UCC places a greater emphasis on selecting candidates with demonstrated musical ability and strong academic standing.
