B-Tech Construction Technology and Management

Cape Coast Technical University’s B-Tech in Construction Technology and Management, based in the School of Built & Natural Environment, trains you in the technical and managerial side of building. You will study how construction works from site to finish, and how to run projects safely and within budget. This degree is designed for students who want to build things and lead the teams that build them.

What this programme covers

Programmes of this kind usually cover construction methods and materials, structural principles, project planning and scheduling, cost estimation, site supervision, and health and safety. You also learn how to manage people, contracts, and resources on a construction site. In Ghana, where infrastructure and housing are expanding rapidly, these skills are in constant demand.

What you can do after graduation

Most graduates go into the construction industry as site managers, project coordinators, quantity surveyors, or construction supervisors. Others work for government agencies, real estate developers, or as independent contractors. Further study can lead to specialisation in civil engineering, project management, or urban development.

How competitive entry is

Entry to this programme is less competitive than many other engineering and technology programmes. If you meet the published WASSCE requirements, your chances of getting a place are good.
