The business of food and farming
Programmes of this kind usually cover agricultural production, economics, marketing, supply chain management, and financial management. You learn how to turn farm products into profitable businesses, how to plan and manage agribusiness ventures, and how to understand markets and policies that affect agriculture. Most graduates go on to work in agribusiness companies, farm management, agricultural advisory services, or start their own ventures.
How hard it is to get a place
Entry is less competitive than at the University of Cape Coast, where the same programme is competitive. The published requirements ask for a General Science or General Agriculture background, and SHS graduates with Business backgrounds are also considered. Diploma holders may be placed at Level 200 or 300 after an interview. Because this programme is less competitive, admission tends to be more accessible than at the more competitive schools, but you should always check the latest requirements with the university.
