Check if you qualifyThe BSc. Business Administration at Presbyterian University is a practical degree that equips you with the skills to run and manage organisations. It is offered at the Okwahu Campus and welcomes students from both Business and General Science SHS backgrounds. Entry is less competitive than at some other universities, but you still need to meet the required WASSCE passes.
What business administration programmes actually cover
Business administration programmes of this kind usually give you a broad grounding in finance, marketing, human resource management, operations, and strategic planning. You learn how organisations work, how to manage people and resources, how to read financial statements, and how to make business decisions. You also build practical skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership, which are valuable in any industry.
How hard is it to get a place?
Admission to business administration at Presbyterian University is less competitive. This means it is not as difficult to get into as highly competitive programmes in the same field, such as the one at KNUST, and it is also less competitive than some others. To apply, you need three core subjects and three electives from any groupings. Both Business and General Science students are accepted, so your elective choices are not restricted to business-related subjects. If you have the required passes, you can check your grades against the entry requirements.
Where a business administration degree can take you
Graduates of business administration programmes typically go into roles such as management trainee, marketing officer, human resource assistant, financial analyst, or entrepreneur. The degree is broad enough to open doors in banking, insurance, retail, manufacturing, non-profits, and government. Some graduates go on to start their own businesses, while others pursue further qualifications in accounting, finance, or management.
