How hard it is to get a place
Entry to this programme is less competitive than many other computing or engineering degrees. This means that your chances of admission are better, but you still need solid grades in the right subjects. Because the entry requirements are published as subject grades rather than a specific aggregate, you should check your own WASSCE results against the requirements and apply if you meet them.
The subjects you need for admission
To qualify, you need credits in Elective Mathematics and any two of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, ICT, Metal Work, Economics, Geography, Accounting, or Economics and Costing. If you took Chemistry, you can substitute it with ICT, Computer Studies, or Applied Electricity. This gives you flexibility – so if your background is more technical or more commercial, there is likely a combination that works.
