What geological engineering covers
Programmes of this kind usually cover rock mechanics, mineral exploration, geophysics, hydrogeology, and the safe design of mines, tunnels, and foundations. You build skills in mapping, data analysis, and site investigation, and learn how to assess natural hazards such as landslides and earthquakes. Most graduates apply these skills in mining, oil and gas, construction, and environmental consulting.

Entry is highly competitive. KNUST's College of Engineering considers applicants from Agriculture, General Science, and Technical Studies backgrounds. Where the degree can take you
Graduates typically become geological engineers, engineering geologists, or geotechnical engineers.
