What studying paediatric nursing is like

Programmes of this kind usually cover child anatomy and physiology, growth and development, common childhood diseases, paediatric pharmacology, and communication with children and their families. Most courses include practical placements in children's wards, neonatal units, or community health centres, where you put theory into practice under supervision.

How competitive it is to get a place

This programme is less competitive than many other health degrees. That means more applicants with the required grades can be offered admission. Even so, you still need to meet the entry requirements set by the university, such as credits in the relevant subjects. If you have good WASSCE results, it is worth checking whether you qualify.
