Surveying Practical Training

Surveying Practical Training is a certificate programme at Tamale Technical University's Faculty of Built and Natural Environment. What surveying practical training covers

A certificate in surveying practical training focuses on the day-to-day work of a field surveyor. You learn to use levels, theodolites, GPS equipment and measuring tools to record distances, angles and heights. You also practise setting out building lines, checking boundaries and collecting data for maps or site plans. The training is mostly practical, so you spend much of your time outdoors on real or simulated sites.

Skills you will build

You will build skills in reading and drawing plans, operating surveying instruments accurately, recording field measurements clearly, and solving simple geometry problems on site. These are the skills employers look for when hiring surveying assistants and technicians. You will also learn team communication and site safety practices.
