BBA Human Resource Management

This degree gives you a solid grounding in managing people at work. You will study recruitment, training, pay and employee relations, and learn how to get the best out of a workforce. Entry is less competitive than many business degrees, so it is worth considering if you have an interest in people and your grades are moderate.

What human resource management involves

Programmes of this kind usually cover the full employee cycle, from hiring and onboarding to training, performance management and exit. You also learn about employment law, negotiation, motivation and organisational culture, so you can handle both the paperwork and the people side. Expect to build practical skills in interviewing, presentations, data handling and conflict resolution.

How hard it is to get a place

This BBA is less competitive than many other business programmes at Christian Service University College and similar institutions. Academic City, Methodist and Valley View also offer HR management at a similarly competitive level, so your options are open. If you meet the published WASSCE subject requirements, you have a realistic chance — check your grades against the university's entry criteria to be sure.

Where the degree can take you

HR graduates are needed in every large organisation, including banks, hospitals, government agencies, factories, NGOs and tech firms. Most people start as HR officers and later move into recruiting, training design or employee relations, eventually becoming HR managers or consultants. The work is varied: one day you may be interviewing a candidate; another day you might design a staff training session or handle a workplace grievance.
