What diagnostic imaging students learn
Diagnostic imaging programmes focus on the safe use of X-rays, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other technologies to create images of the human body for medical diagnosis. Coursework typically covers anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, patient positioning, image analysis, and professional ethics. Students also spend time in clinical placements where they learn to interact with patients and work alongside radiologists and other health professionals.
How difficult it is to win admission
This programme is highly competitive, just as it is at KNUST and the University of Ghana. Admission is limited to students from the General Science stream, so your performance in General Science subjects matters a great deal. Because places are limited, a strong WASSCE result gives you a realistic chance, but you should always confirm the university's specific entry requirements for the year you apply.
